Taxkey is a specialist tax advisory practice that works closely with accountants, solicitors and legal advisors to deliver strategic and proactive tax advice to businesses and their owners.

Mairéad is a Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA AITI) and Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland (FCA). Mairéad holds a Bachelor of Business and Law (BBLS) from UCD and a Masters in Accounting (MAcc) from the Michael Smurfit School of Business.
Mairéad is passionate about delivering the highest quality tax advice in a practical, professional, timely and confidential manner. Over the past 16 years, Mairéad has developed a wealth of experience in advising a broad spectrum of clients on Irish tax matters.
Prior to setting up Taxkey, Mairéad held tax roles in a “Big 4” accountancy practice, a “Top 5” law firm, a small accountancy firm and most recently headed up the tax function in a large Irish corporate group.
Since 2021, Mairéad has represented CCAB-I on TALC (indirect taxes) and is currently acting as Chair. TALC is the main forum for making representations between the Irish Revenue and practitioners on tax administration in Ireland. The CCAB-I is the Consultative Committee of Accountancy Bodies of Ireland and is an umbrella group of the Irish accountancy profession.
Mairéad enjoys speaking regularly as a tax specialist at professional training conferences. Mairéad is also a frequent contributor of tax technical articles to the CPA’s Accountancy Plus journal and the LexisNexis Tolley Tax Books.
Máiréad delivers tax solutions for companies, not for profit organisations, sole traders and private individuals.
Outside of Taxkey, Mairéad holds the following roles:
● Director of Terra NutriTECH, an award winning AgTech company based in Co Kildare
● President of Country Kildare Chamber
● Treasurer and Member of the Board of Rare Diseases Ireland
● Member of the International Chamber of Commerce Commission on Taxation
Miriam is an Associate of the Irish Tax Institute and a Charter Tax Advisor. She holds a BA Hons degree in Legal Studies with Business and an ordinary degree in International Trade Law from the Southeast Technological University.
Prior to joining Taxkey, she trained with Brian Hennery and Associates in Waterford and remained with the practice post qualification. She has also held tax consultancy roles with a medium size accountancy practice based in Waterford and a “Top 10” accounting firm.
Miriam is experienced in advising across all areas of taxation and provides efficient tax planning solutions to private individuals, sole traders, family companies and professional advisors. She has particular expertise in gift and inheritance tax planning, estate administration compliance, property conveyancing, VAT, personal taxation and in advising individuals moving to and out of Ireland.
Emma is a Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA AITI) and Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA). Emma holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Accounting & Finance from Limerick Institute of Technology.
Prior to joining Taxkey, Emma trained as an accountant with a highly regarded accountancy firm in Co Tipperary and qualified as a member of ACCA in 2018. During this time Emma worked with a clients across a broad range of sectors, gaining valuable commercial experience. Emma qualified as a Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA AITI) in 2019. She then spent a number of years advising SMEs and private clients as Assistant Tax Manager in the tax team of a leading accountancy firm in Co Limerick, gaining in-depth knowledge of all areas of Irish tax.
